Indian student's US work permit revoked, appeals for help

An Indian student's STEM OPT was revoked by USCIS because the employer lacked a US presence, only having a mailing address.

USCIS audited the company and found no local office or employer in the US, leading to an EAD revocation letter and a 30-day leave notice.

The student urged others to choose legitimate employers with a physical presence in the US.

In May, Immigration and Customs Enforcement identified over 10,000 cases of OPT fraud.

OPT allows foreign students to work in the US for 12 months, with STEM OPT extending up to 24 months.
