Composer Asteryth Sloane passes away at 26 years old

Award-winning British composer Asteryth Sloane has died at age 26.

Sloane's compositions were performed by leading UK ensembles including VOCES8, Paraorchestra, BBC Singers, and BBC Concert Orchestra.

The Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Philharmonic Society shared the news on Instagram.

Sloane's music often explored themes of nature, spirituality, identity, and the rights of sound.

Sloane also trained as a therapist, focusing on interpersonal and healing contexts.
