Nolan Wells update: Friends launch GiveSendGo campaign to fight 'lies' and defamation lawsuits; 'This must stop'

Friends of Nolan Wells launched a GiveSendGo fundraiser to fight defamation and legal actions, citing an 'unprecedented online campaign of accusations, harassment, threats, and defamation'.

The fundraiser names attorney Ben Crump and activist Al Sharpton, accusing them of spreading false narratives, and lists goals: raise funds to defend against wrongful death suits and sue for slander and libel.

The friends state they have cooperated with authorities, turned over information, and provided witnesses; they report bomb threats, packages sent, and arrests made.

Online suspicion arose from inconsistencies in friends' accounts, such as Hudson's claim that Wells stayed on Horn Island and left his phone on the boat, contested by Wells' parents.
