Centre splits MoHUA into capital, urban development departments

Union government splits MoHUA into department of capital development and department of urban development via amendment to Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961.

The split was formalized through a Gazette notification issued on Wednesday.

The change separates housing and urban affairs into two distinct departments for capital and urban development.
