Want to work in Germany? Here's everything Indian professionals need to know before applying for visa

Indian citizens must obtain a German work visa and have a job offer from a German employer to work in Germany.

The Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) allows eligible foreign nationals to enter Germany without a job offer to look for work.

Indian applicants can apply at the German Embassy in New Delhi or Consulates General in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai, sometimes via VFS Global.

The visa fee is €75 for adults and €37.50 for applicants under 18, with processing typically taking around 15 working days.

Applicants need a valid passport, employment contract or job offer, proof of qualifications, and health insurance.
