Kolkata Weather Update: Rainy Sunday Ahead As IMD Predicts Thunderstorms, Gusty Winds

Kolkata is expected to receive moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds on July 26, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD attributes the rainy spell to a low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall across Kolkata and South Bengal.

Residents are advised to stay alert, avoid waterlogged areas, and exercise caution while travelling due to potential traffic disruptions and waterlogging.

Maximum temperature in Kolkata is expected around 30°C, minimum near 25°C, with gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph during thunderstorms.
