Former TN minister EV Velu appears before DVAC

Former Tamil Nadu minister E V Velu appeared before the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) in Chennai on July 16, 2026.

The DVAC probe concerns alleged irregularities in road projects during the previous DMK regime.

Velu appeared in compliance with a Madras High Court directive and cooperated with the investigation.

The case is based on a 2022 complaint by Arappor Iyakkam founder Jayaram Venkatesan.

Velu stated he would appear before the agency again if summoned; the case is next scheduled on July 28.
