Compensation for environmental services: Himachal seeking its rightful share from Centre: Sukhu

Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the state is seeking its rightful dues from the Centre, including compensation for environmental services.

Sukhu criticized the discontinuation of the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) under Article 275, calling it an injustice.

A study by the Indian Institute of Forest Management valued Himachal's environmental services at nearly ₹90,000 crore.

Sukhu demanded increased royalty from old hydropower projects and the handover of projects after their concession period ends.

Sukhu announced ₹5 crore for a B Tech course in artificial intelligence at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), which will be designated as the nodal agency for green hydrogen.
