'This moment belongs to my father': Yash Thakur on maiden India call-up

Yash Thakur received his maiden India call-up for the T20I series against Zimbabwe after landing at Nagpur airport.

Thakur dedicated his call-up to his late father Ravi Singh Thakur, who died of a cardiac arrest in 2023 and had supported his cricket career.

He will reunite with India bowling coach Morne Morkel, having previously worked with him at Lucknow Super Giants to improve technical and mental aspects of fast bowling.

Thakur reflects on the winning mindset instilled by Ricky Ponting and the faith of captain Shreyas Iyer in his bowlers.

He said pressure situations bring out the best in him, citing his ability to trust his skills on different wickets.
