11 farmers booked for Bidadi protest get bail

A Ramanagara court granted anticipatory bail to 11 farmers booked for a protest against the proposed Bidadi Township on July 13.

The farmers were accused of attacking Joint Measurement Committee officials with a broom at Mandalahalli and damaging two multi-utility vehicles during a survey.

Two FIRs were registered: one for attacking JMC officials and another for targeting police who tried to stop the protesters.

The charges included criminal intimidation, unlawful assembly, voluntarily causing hurt, and obstructing government officials from discharging duty.
