DA hike: Odisha announces 5% Dearness Allowance increase for employees, pensioners under pre-revised pay scales

Odisha government approved a 5% increase in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for state employees and pensioners under pre-revised ORSP Rules, 2008.

The hike raises DA from 257% to 262% of combined basic and grade pay, effective 1 January 2026.

Arrears for January to June 2026 will be paid in cash; adjustments for July will be made in salary.

The move benefits employees including teaching/non-teaching staff of aided institutions, universities, judicial officers, work-charged employees, and contract workers.

The hike aligns with the Centre's DA increase and was approved by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi's government.
