Babar Azam breaks silence on becoming Pakistan's Test captain again: ‘My past experience…’

Babar Azam is reappointed Pakistan Test captain after Shan Masood was sacked following a 30-month stint with 12 losses in 16 Tests.

Babar will lead Pakistan in a two-match Test series against the West Indies starting July 25, 2026.

Babar said he feels no pressure and his aim is to help Pakistan win, drawing on his past captaincy experience.

Babar previously captained Pakistan in 20 Tests, winning 10, losing 6, and drawing 4.

Pakistan played a four-day practice match ahead of the series, where Babar scored a century.
