TikTok CEO Chew Shou Zi asks NTU PhD graduates to ‘seek out the unknown’ in changing world

TikTok CEO Chew Shou Zi urged PhD graduates at Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU) to embrace uncertainty and apply research skills to solve real-world problems in the AI era.

Chew delivered the commencement address at NTU's PhD conferment ceremony on August 1, encouraging graduates to step beyond academia.

He traced his education from Yio Chu Kang and Hwa Chong Institution to the London School of Economics and Harvard University.

Chew recalled early exposure to technology through a computer from his father, which he used mainly for games.
