Teen lifeguard saves 3 in California surf, praised by Trump
Ryder Williams, a 16-year-old California State Parks lifeguard, saved a 10-year-old boy from 10-foot waves at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz on his first day.
After his shift, Williams helped save two more people in a separate incident.
President Donald Trump praised Williams on Truth Social, inviting him and his family to the White House for a High Civilian Honor.
The rescue was captured on video by photographer Scott Vander Dussen.
Williams' father, Shane Williams, said his son had years of training for such emergencies.
