Gross NPAs of banks decline to 1.73 pc in March 2026: Govt

Gross NPAs of scheduled commercial banks fell to 1.73% by March 2026 from 2.75% in March 2024.

Public Sector Bank NPAs dropped sharply to Rs 2.45 lakh crore from Rs 6.16 lakh crore in March 2021.

The government disclosed these figures in Rajya Sabha, reflecting improved asset quality.
