NSRTC 2026: Science-powered startups key to Viksit Bharat 2047, say Man Mohan Sharma and R. A. Mashelkar

Man Mohan Sharma received the Vigyan Maharshi Award at NSRTC 2026 and urged India to embrace failure as essential to scientific discovery.

Sharma called for curiosity-driven research over guaranteed outcomes, stating failure is necessary for invention and innovation.

R. A. Mashelkar stressed the importance of science-powered startups and homegrown technologies for Viksit Bharat 2047.

Other speakers at NSRTC 2026 advocated stronger collaboration among universities, industry, and government to achieve national goals.

The conference was held at MIT World Peace University (MIT WPU) in Pune over three days.
