Special MCOCA court issued a production warrant against gangster Anmol Bishnoi for arrest in the Baba Siddique murder case after reprimanding Mumbai Police for not securing his custody.
Baba Siddique, 66, was shot dead by three assailants outside his son Zeeshan's office in Mumbai's Bandra (East) on October 12, 2024.
The prosecution also obtained a proclamation notice against two wanted accused, Mohammad Yasin Akhtar alias Sikandar and Shubham Rameshwar Lonkar.
Siddique's widow Shehzeen filed a plea alleging Mumbai Police avoided interrogating Bishnoi due to external pressure and sought his custody.
The court noted that securing accused custody is the exclusive responsibility of the investigating agency, not the court.
