Army Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology in Bengaluru asked 15 students who exited after three years under NEP to return and complete a fourth year.
The students, who joined in July 2022 under NEP, were initially told they could exit after three years with a BBA in Hotel Management, but now face degree denial.
Affected students must pay around Rs 2 lakh in fees and spend an additional year, conflicting with their current jobs or MBA studies.
Institute director Brig VV Subramaniam said the issue stems from NEP implementation and that the institute is engaging with Bangalore North University to resolve it.
At least nine students from the 2024 batch have also been asked to return to complete the programme.
