Global gold demand flat at 1,269 tonnes in April-June quarter: WGC report

  3. Central banks net purchased 289 tonnes of gold in Q2, a 62% increase year-on-year, led by Poland, China, the Czech Republic, and the RBI adding 200 kg.

  4. Jewellery demand fell 17% year-on-year in volume in Q2 due to high gold prices, but first-half value rose 22% year-on-year to $86 billion.

  5. OTC market demand remained strong at 327 tonnes in Q2 and 571 tonnes in the first half, supported by Asian investors.
