in5points
Dakshina Kannada health department will convene a meeting with private hospitals to push implementation of PM-RAHAT scheme.
PM-RAHAT provides cashless treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh for road accident victims during the 'golden hour' (within one hour of accident).
Only 45 accident victims have availed cashless treatment under PM-RAHAT since its launch in February, attributed to low awareness.
District health officer Dr HR Thimmaiah said all registered hospitals must compulsorily provide treatment under the scheme.
Arogya Mitras have been trained to educate the public about the scheme, and issues like police approvals will be addressed.
