Hingoli Draws Up Special Health Plan For 98 Flood-Prone Villages

  1. Hingoli District Health Department has prepared a comprehensive monsoon action plan for 98 flood-prone villages due to increased risk of infectious diseases, snakebites, and emergencies.

  2. villages on riverbanks are highly sensitive, and 72 more are in flood-prone areas; road connectivity is often disrupted, hindering timely medical care.

  3. Risk of diarrhoea, gastroenteritis, fever, and other water-borne diseases rises from contaminated drinking water, along with snakebites and obstetric emergencies.

  4. Buffer stock of essential medicines has been supplied to flood-prone villages, and ASHA workers, health volunteers, and staff are on high alert to respond immediately.

  5. Special surveillance is maintained in villages along Penganga, Purna, and Kayadhu rivers across Hingoli, Basmat, Kalamnuri, Sengaon, and Aundha Nagnath tehsils.
