Anahat Singh achieves long-awaited goal in squash

Anahat Singh won the World Junior Squash Championship, becoming the first Indian and first non-Egyptian woman since 2010 to win the title.

The 18-year-old defeated Egypt's Ruqayya Salem in the final to claim the title.

Anahat had previously reached three quarter-finals and one semi-final in her four prior attempts at the junior worlds.

Despite already being a top-20 PSA player with 16 PSA titles and an Asian Games medal, she prioritized the junior title as the biggest event for any junior.

Anahat said she felt desperation to win this medal and had to handle extra pressure as the top seed in her final year as a junior.
