HP: Panel formed to probe irregularities in 'Sugam Darshan' system at Chintpurni temple

A three-member panel headed by the additional deputy commissioner of Una has been constituted to investigate irregularities in the 'Sugam Darshan' system at Chintpurni temple in Himachal Pradesh's Una district.
'Sugam Darshan' is a paid system launched on August 8, 2023, providing quick entry for worship, including special service fees, group limits, and travel help.
The irregularities were found after an FIR on July 19; on that day, only 23 transactions occurred but the system displayed 88, suggesting misuse of login IDs and passwords by an unauthorised person.
The temple trust replaced the staff operating the system and directed the panel to submit a report within seven days with recommendations.
Service charges collected through the system since August 2023 amount to over ₹12 crore, which are used for devotee facilities and public welfare; the fee is clarified as a service charge, not a donation.
