Netflix exec fired after using ketamine

Kevin Baillie, a Netflix visual effects executive, was fired from his $1.1 million job after admitting at a company retreat that he used ketamine in 2022 for grief therapy after his mother's death.

The admission occurred during a vulnerability-trust exercise at a January 2026 retreat at Sendero Ranch in Northern California, triggering an investigation that led to his termination.

Baillie's lawsuit claims the investigator mischaracterized his prescribed ketamine use as recreational drug abuse, and he was denied severance.

The investigation also examined Baillie's drinking and language, including a performance review warning to 'drop one or two less f-bombs'.

Baillie is seeking a jury trial, compensatory damages, lost wages, and punitive damages from Netflix and Eyeline Studios.
