Uber to buy Delivery Hero in $15 billion deal

Uber agreed to buy Germany's Delivery Hero at an equity value of $14.8 billion.
The acquisition creates the largest food-delivery group outside China.
Uber aims to better compete with Just Eat, owned by Dutch group Prosus, and US rival DoorDash.
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said the deal will nearly double the number of markets offering both mobility and delivery services.
The transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of next year, conditional on a minimum acceptance threshold of 50% plus one share.
