Fake DRDO officer cheats woman of Rs 2.3 lakh

S Preeth Kumar claimed to be a DRDO officer on a Tamil matrimonial website and duped a 32-year-old woman of Rs 2.3 lakh.

Kumar asked for money to build a memorial for his mother and for his grandmother's treatment from April to July.

When the woman demanded repayment, Kumar threatened to leak her private photographs to her father.

The woman filed a complaint with cybercrime helpline 1930 after discovering Kumar misrepresented his identity.
