10 killed, nearly 100 injured in Russian strike on Ukraine defence event

A Russian ballistic missile struck a defence industry event in Ukraine's Kyiv region, killing at least 10 and injuring nearly 100.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy blamed Russia but also criticized the decision to hold a weapons exhibition with large crowds during wartime.

The event was organized by a drone manufacturers' association near Kyiv; Ukraine's General Staff said it was not under military jurisdiction.

A day of mourning was declared by Kyiv regional acting governor Ruslan Oliynyk; Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko launched a criminal investigation into the organization of the event.

Separately, a Russian aerial bomb killed five in Sloviansk.
