Auger-Aliassime playing for hometown pride at Montreal Masters

Felix Auger-Aliassime, world number four, is the second seed at the Montreal Masters, playing in his hometown.

The tournament is missing top stars including Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, and Carlos Alcaraz due to injury or rest.

Auger-Aliassime recently split with coach Frederic Fontang after losing a Wimbledon quarter-final to Novak Djokovic.

He will face the winner of Luca van Assche vs. a qualifier in the second round.

His best result at the Canadian event was a quarter-final four years ago, but last year he lost in the second round.
