2023 Jaipur-Mumbai train shooting case: Absence of judge halts hearings for 4 months

Trial of RPF constable Chetan Singh Choudhary, accused in the 2023 Jaipur-Mumbai train shooting, halted for four months due to absence of a judge in courtroom 11 at Dindoshi Sessions Court.

Last hearing was on March 25; the judge was transferred that evening, and no replacement has been appointed.

The trial also stalled between December 2025 and February 2026 for the same reason.

Additional Public Prosecutor Sudhir Sapkale, handling the case since its start, was assigned to another court in November, limiting his availability for this trial.

Witnesses have come to court but were not examined due to the prosecutor's unavailability, compounding trauma for victims' families.
