TCS POSH Committee Member Ashwini Chainani Gets Bail In Nashik Sexual Harassment Case

Ashwini Chainani, a POSH committee member of TCS, was granted bail by a Nashik court for alleged sexual harassment at the Nashik unit.
The court noted Chainani's only attributed role was not taking cognizance of the victim's complaint, but held she was duty bound to act under the POSH Act.
The victim did not specify dates of approaching Chainani, and the defence argued no formal written complaint was submitted.
Former TCS employee Danish Shaikh was also granted bail in a related case but remains in custody in another case at Deolali Police Station.
Shaikh sought discharge from the case, arguing the complainant is not a woman, so BNS Sections 75 and 79 on sexual harassment are inapplicable.
