Bengaluru earner feels poor on ₹2 lakh monthly salary

A 26-year-old Bengaluru man earning ₹2 lakh per month says he feels poor despite no debt and ₹4 lakh in stocks, ₹2 lakh in fixed deposits, ₹2-2.5 lakh in gold, and ₹6 lakh in savings.

He grew up with a household income of ₹6-7k until age 21 and now supports his parents, invests ₹30,000 in mutual funds, sends ₹15,000-20,000 home, and spends ₹25,000 on rent.

He feels anxious about spending, such as buying a shirt above ₹750, and says he has money but not enough for his goals: a ₹10 lakh wedding, a used car, land in his hometown, and a motorcycle.
