Youth affected by drugs are victims, need dignity & livelihood: J&K LG

J&K LG Manoj Sinha said 2,300 FIRs were registered and 2,600 people arrested during the 100-day Nasha Mukt J&K campaign ending July 20.

The campaign saw seizure of 1,500 kg of narcotics and attachment of over 331 properties worth around ₹200 crore belonging to narco-terrorists and drug smugglers.

Over 370 driving licenses and 750 vehicle registrations were cancelled, with recommendations to cancel nearly 3,000 Aadhaar cards.

Sinha announced the upcoming Rehabilitation and Socio-Economic Reintegration Scheme for Drug Abuse Victims, 2026, a three-year pilot in two districts focusing on treatment, counseling, education, and livelihood.

Sinha described youth affected by drugs as victims, emphasizing the need to ensure their dignity and livelihood.
