Dog high on marijuana rescued on Scotland's highest mountain

A black Labrador named Tokyo ate discarded marijuana while hiking Ben Nevis, Scotland's highest mountain.

The dog became too high to stand, lost use of her hind legs, and drifted in and out of consciousness.

Volunteers from the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team carried the 32-kilogram Labrador down the mountain on a stretcher.

Crown Vets in Fort William diagnosed cannabis toxicity and treated her with activated charcoal; she recovered fully within 24 hours.

Owner Christina Bluhme urged hikers to dispose of rubbish responsibly, as dogs are highly sensitive to THC.
