An internal memo suggested agents could offer alternative airports like Miami International Airport or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to travelers who disliked the new name.

United stated the memo was poorly worded and not accurate, and the airline's policy does not allow changes based on an airport's name or three-letter code.

Passengers may still modify tickets under existing fare rules or customer service policies, but not solely because of the airport's renaming.

The airport, formerly Palm Beach International Airport, was renamed President Donald J Trump International Airport.
