Sheriff Chris Nanos said the FBI was present on day one of the Nancy Guthrie investigation, contradicting FBI Director Kash Patel's claim that federal agents were excluded for four days.
Nanos stated his department contacted the FBI's Violent Crime Task Force after search and rescue teams recognized the seriousness of the situation.
Patel had claimed on Sean Hannity's podcast that the FBI was kept out of the investigation for four days, and criticized evidence being sent to a private lab in Florida instead of the FBI facility in Quantico.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department previously told The New York Post that Nanos worked with the FBI 'without delay.'
