DRDO signed two contracts with AIESL and Adani Defence Systems for the AEW&C Mk II (Netra Mk II) programme.
AIESL will convert six Airbus A321 commercial aircraft into military-ready 'green' platforms.
Adani Defence Systems will develop, integrate, and produce indigenous mission systems as the development-cum-production partner.
Netra Mk II is a next-generation airborne early warning and control aircraft for the Indian Air Force, providing long-range surveillance and battle management.
The modified platforms will undergo flight testing with the Indian Air Force and certification by CEMILAC.
