Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust treasurer Govind Dev Giri Maharaj refused to resign over alleged donation embezzlement at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Giri Maharaj blamed the State Bank of India (SBI) for lapses, saying all arrested were SBI employees deployed by the bank to handle cash from donation boxes.
He estimated the siphoned amount at around ₹3 crore but said it was not an official figure.
Giri Maharaj stated he was satisfied with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe and Supreme Court monitoring.
