Full story →Kulgam terror attack: Kharge claims labourers were asked to 'identify' before being shot
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge condemned the killing of two labourers from Chhattisgarh in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir, alleging they were identified before being shot.
The victims were Deepak Ratre, 24, from Sakti district, and Bhupendra Bhaina, 28, from Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, both employed at a brick kiln in Kulgam.
Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah announced an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh each for the victims' families; Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai directed officials to coordinate return of bodies.
The attack followed the July 22 shooting of head constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi in Anantnag during Amarnath Yatra duty.

Suspected terrorists opened fire on non-local labourers at a brick kiln in Kelam area of Kulgam district, Jammu and Kashmir, killing one and injuring another.
The injured labourer was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Anantnag for treatment.
The attack comes less than 10 days after terrorists shot dead police officer Aashiq Hussain Qureshi in Anantnag town.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the assailants.
