Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, former CM Siddaramaiah, and state Congress president BK Hariprasad will travel to New Delhi on Monday to meet Congress high command.
The meeting aims to finalize candidates for 20 vacant ministerial berths as part of a long-pending cabinet expansion in Karnataka.
The cabinet expansion could be announced as early as Tuesday or Wednesday, ahead of the monsoon session in August.
More than 60 Congress legislators are vying for the 20 ministerial positions.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi are expected to give final approval, with Rahul Gandhi favoring new faces around age 50 with two decades of party work.
