NSA Ajit Doval will receive the Lokmanya Tilak National Award 2026 in Pune, coinciding with the 106th death anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will present the award at the Maharashtra Mandal Ground in Pune's Gultekdi area.
The award recognizes Doval's contributions to national security, counter-terrorism, covert operations, and border security, including Operation Black Thunder, the Doklam diplomatic negotiations, and the Balakot air strike.
The Lokmanya Tilak National Award includes a memento, a citation, and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, presented annually to individuals with outstanding contributions to the nation.
Doval, an IPS officer of the 1968 batch, served over three decades in intelligence, headed the Intelligence Bureau, and is India's longest-serving National Security Adviser.

NSA Ajit Doval received the Lokmanya Tilak National Award in Pune for strengthening India's national security; Union home minister Amit Shah presented the award at an event marking the 106th death anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
The award was presented by the Lokmanya Tilak Smarak Trust; trust president Rohit Tilak announced Doval's selection for his role in national security.
Doval is India's longest-serving National Security Advisor and has been associated with Operation Sindoor, the Balakot air strike, and the surgical strikes.
The Lokmanya Tilak National Award, instituted in 1983, has previously been given to S M Joshi, Pranab Mukherjee, Narendra Modi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Manmohan Singh, and Nitin Gadkari.
The ceremony took place at Kataria High School ground in Mukundnagar, attended by Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, deputy chief ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar, and other dignitaries.
