Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bhogapuram airport on August 1, 2026.
Commercial operations at Bhogapuram are set to begin on August 17, 2026, after which the Visakhapatnam civil enclave will close to scheduled flights for 30 years.
Non-scheduled commercial operations and flights by armed forces or government agencies may continue at Visakhapatnam Airport.
