Raul Morales, 51, was arrested after stabbing two men on Manhattan's Upper West Side on July 23, 2026.
The attacks occurred minutes apart near West 84th Street/Central Park West and West 86th Street/Amsterdam Avenue; a 57-year-old was stabbed in the back, a 50-year-old had a puncture wound from a screwdriver.
Both victims were taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in stable condition.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said Morales shouted 'Allahu Akbar' during the attacks, and investigators are examining possible hate crime motives; mental health may have been a factor.
Police found no known connection between Morales and the victims and no prior mental health history.
