The Delhi government approved the Lakshmi Yojana, providing eligible women aged 21-60 a monthly ₹2,500 assistance.

An online application portal for the scheme will launch on August 1, with first payment expected around Raksha Bandhan.

Eligibility requires annual family income up to ₹2.50 lakh, excludes households with more than three children, electricity consumption over 2,400 units, government employees, income taxpayers, four-wheeler owners, and those getting other financial assistance or pensions.

Beneficiaries can choose between two payment options: one with ₹1,500 deposited into an RD/FD account and ₹1,000 into a CBDC Digital Rupee Wallet, and the second mode options.

The amount in the CBDC Digital Rupee Wallet can only be used for purchases permitted by the government under a negative list, as stated by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

Lakshmi Yojana portal opens on August 1, 2026, offering eligible women in Bengal Rs 2,500 per month.

Women can only withdraw Rs 1,000 per month; the remaining Rs 1,500 is placed in a recurring deposit with a three-year lock-in.

Eligibility includes women aged 21–60, with annual family income under Rs 2.5 lakh, excluding government employees, income taxpayers, and four-wheeler owners.

Applicants must be Delhi residents for at least 10 years, with documents like Aadhaar and Voter card required.
