Bahuda Yatra began in Puri on July 24, 2026, with Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra starting their return journey to the 12th-century Jagannath Temple.
The rituals began with servitors carrying the deities in 'Goti Pahandi' to three chariots: Taladwaj, Darpadalan, and Nandighosh.
Chakraraj Sudarshan, the divine discus of Lord Jagannath, was first brought from Shree Gundicha Temple and placed on Goddess Subhadra's Darpadalan chariot.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik greeted devotees, with Majhi extending wishes for happiness and prosperity.
Extensive security measures were in place following a crowd surge during Rath Yatra that claimed two lives.
