He teaches engineering at Miami Dade College, including course COP 2270: C for Engineers.
Thomas began dual enrollment at Miami Dade College at age 10, transferred to Florida International University at 14, and earned bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering by 18.
Previous record holder Colin Maclaurin held the title for 306 years; youngest female professor Alia Sabur was 16 days older than Thomas when she set her record.
