The Indian Embassy in the US criticized The New York Times for using 'Pakistani Kashmir' in a headline, calling it misleading. India reiterated its position that the region is Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and an integral part of India.
Background
Kashmir has been a disputed territory between India and Pakistan since partition in 1947. India claims the entire former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, including areas under Pakistani control (PoK) and Chinese control (Aksai Chin). Pakistan administers the regions of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
