The MoU was signed in the presence of CSIR DG Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Nalanda University VC Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, and MEA Secretary (East) Rudrendra Tandon.
The partnership aims to create scalable community-centric development models using CSIR's indigenous technologies and Nalanda University's international academic ecosystem.
Focus areas include model village development, solid waste management, water quality improvement, environmental sustainability, and local community engagement.
A CSIR Technology Gallery will be established at Nalanda University campus to showcase indigenous technologies developed by CSIR laboratories.
CSIR DG proposed launching at least three targeted social missions during the initial phase to demonstrate measurable impact.
The MoU provides a framework for collaboration in sustainable technology deployment, capacity building, rural outreach, and knowledge exchange.
Nalanda University VC emphasized the importance of identifying the most appropriate technologies for society, not just developing them.
MEA Secretary (East) stated that the collaboration will help realize the vision of making Nalanda University a world-class international institution with a vibrant global network.
