Why in news
Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs informed Lok Sabha about the monitoring and progress of PM-JANMAN in Kerala. The scheme has contributed to socio-economic development of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in the state through improved basic amenities and livelihood opportunities.
Background
PM-JANMAN (Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan) is a central scheme launched to improve the socio-economic conditions of PVTGs across India. It involves multiple ministries implementing various measures.

The scheme targets Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).
In Kerala, as of 30 June 2026, 1301 houses were sanctioned under PMAY-G, with 63 completed.

A Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) has been established at the national level for effective implementation.
Under Jal Jeevan Mission, 96 villages were approved and 1 village saturated.
