Why in news

Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs informed Lok Sabha about the implementation of Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA), including the number of eligible tribal beneficiaries across states/UTs. The scheme aims at holistic development of tribal villages through saturation of welfare schemes.

Background

Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan is a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs launched to ensure saturation of government schemes in tribal-majority villages. It focuses on infrastructure, livelihood, education, health, and skill development.
