Why in news

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has reinforced monitoring of de-addiction centres under NAPDDR using a digital platform (NMBA MIS) and periodic inspections. This was stated in a Lok Sabha reply by Minister of State B.L. Verma.

Background

NAPDDR (National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction) is a central scheme supporting de-addiction and rehabilitation centres. The NMBA MIS (Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Management Information System) is a digital tool to track beneficiaries and services.
